Our Red Ale gets its deep, mahogany red color from using just one single type of malt. This unique German Malt is lightly kilned to provide a rich caramel and toasted bread flavor, and lingering sweetness. This full-bodied sweetness is balanced by the use of a single hop variety, which offers notes of Tropical and Citrus Fruits, while a Thiolized yeast gives a pronounced flavor and aroma of Ruby Red Grapefruit. A relatively low ABV makes this beer approachable and highly Drinkable.
History
The only qualifier to this style is the color of the beer – which originates from Ireland. Beyond that, breweries have taken the style in every direction in terms of IBU, SRM, flavors, and funkiness.
